Involvement in the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network (PWPN) means becoming a ‘contemplative in action’, in the words of St Ignatius of Loyola.

It’s easy to join – there are no barriers, and it’s open to everyone, not just Catholics.

Contemplatives in action.  Through ‘contemplation’ of the life of Jesus in the Gospels, and discernment of his presence in our own lives, we meet Jesus as he really is, learning his way of looking at people, aligning our hearts with his own Sacred Heart.  With the Click to Pray App, we receive new prayers delivered each day to help us offer ourselves to him and his father each morning, afternoon and evening.  Each month, we receive the Pope Video, where Francis provides a new intention for the world to focus our prayers and missionary efforts.  Individually and together, we are led by this process to accompany Jesus in his mission of compassion for humanity.

A mission of compassion.   The PWPN helps us to get out of the ‘globalisation of indifference’ and to open ourselves to a culture of encounter and relationships, welcoming others and the world into our hearts.  We are invited to make our own the Father’s loving gaze upon humanity and to act with the Heart of Jesus Christ. Through both prayer and concrete actions, we can join people from different cultures and religious traditions, people open to this Spirit, and work to relieve the suffering of those most in need.

The Way of the Heart.  This is for those who wish enter more deeply into the transformational experience that the PWPN provides.  It consists of nine-steps adapted from the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius.  Throughout the year, we offer Way of the Heart retreats, at places away from the city, with time to be quiet and contemplate and time to share in the sacraments and experience joyful community.
